COOKING KIT
The cook kit comes in two sizes.
The
Large size fits both the Large and Medium
Kettle. The Small Cook Kit fits the Small
Kettle. The cook kit comes with a pan with
lid that can also be used as a skillet. A
two piece grill and a pair of pliers as a
gripper to lift each item. Both sizes of
cook kit fit in side the base of the fire
box so it is always with you and takes up no
extra space.
Dave uses his folding
water bucket to carry his Kelly Kettle and
to carry water from the river to camp. When
you stop for the night to make camp you can
fill the bucket with water at the river once
and not have to go back for more. The water
bucket holds about a gallon of water. It
folds up flat when packed with your other
camping gear.

The Advanced filter is for extreme conditions
found either in the out-doors such as stagnant
water, or emergency conditions. It performs in
the same manner as the Standard filter and
contains Iodinated Resin (EPA Reg. # 71426) and

DINK'S TIPS:
I frequently eat Mountain House meals on my
Water Strider raft river float trips. With the
insulated cup system I just place a freeze dried
meal in the large 34 ounce cup, add boiling
water from the Kelly Kettle, stir and snap the
lid on. In about 30 minutes I stir again and
have a wonderful hot meal. Eat well and have

Food Safe ROPE and PULLEY
If you
are camping in bear country you should stow
all your food at least 15 feet about the
ground, preferably between two small trees.
Use this rope and pulley system for raising
your food cache high and out of reach of the
most persistent bear or other camp invading
critter.
DINK'S TIPS:
To get a fast hot fire in the Kelly Kettle
use your Water Strider raft foot pump to
pump air through the air vent at the bottom
of the fire box. Just put the hose adapter
by the hole (not to close though cause you
don't want to melt the adapter). Hold it in
place with a rock and gently pump air
through the air hole and presto; you will
have a roaring hot fire and boiling water
very fast. This is a great method on rainy
days or with poor, wet fuel that won't
easily burn. - Dave
